Melba Darline Haeffner, 86, of Linn, Missouri, formerly of Morrison, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Autumn Meadows Nursing Home, Linn, Missouri. Mrs. Haeffner was born in Morrison, Missouri, on November 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Albert and Henrietta (Stutenkemper) Rohlfing. She was united in marriage to George Arie Glick on January 1, 1946, he preceded her in death on November 28, 1977. She then married Gilbert Haeffner on May 24, 1986. He preceded her in death September 1998. Darline was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, Missouri, where she was baptized and confirmed, taught Sunday school, worked with the confirmation classes for many years, was a member of the adult choir, member of the Womens' Fellowship and President for many years. She was a member of the P.T.A. in Morrison and Chamois. She worked as a volunteer in the school in Chamois. She was a member and past worthy matron of Golden Crown Chapter 173 in Chamois, Mo. and District Deputy Grand Matron for one year. She was retired from the Community Bank of Morrison where she was the head cashier and loan officer for over 25 years, she then was House Mother and director of housing at Lindenwood College in St. Charles. She was also co-owner along with her mother of Rohlfing Greenhouse until August of 2002. Darline is survived by a daughter, Beverly Hemeyer of Jefferson City; a son, Allen Glick and wife Dawn of New Bloomfield; daughter, Judy Greene and husband Garry of Rolla; son, David Glick and wife Janet of Linn; a stepson, Michael Haeffner and wife Susie of Jefferson City; a sister, Jewel Flynn of Arcadia, Florida, sisters-in-law, Lorraine Rohlfing of Mexico and Frances Rohlfing of Kansas City; grandchildren, Lorry Dreier and husband Eric, Leah Simpson and husband Michael, Douglas Glick and wife Maggie, Justin Glick and wife Ellie, Ashley Cramer and husband Adam, Todd Greene and wife AnneMarie, and Amy Lewis; step-grandchildren, Paula Marcum, Matthew Haeffner and wife Kathleen, eight great-grandchildren and six great-step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George Arie Glick; her second husband, Gilbert Haeffner; by her brothers, Norris and Albert Rohlfing; brothers-in-law, Jack Corcoran and Pete Flynn and a son-in-law, Donnell Hemeyer. Visitation was held Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, Missouri. Funeral services will be at St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, with Rev. Barbara Zastrow officiating. Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison , Missouri. Family request donations to St. James U.C.C. C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
