Mabel Willene Mitchell Nilges, age 89, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. She was born April 4, 1921, in St. Louis, the daughter of Julius and Eva Leona Mitchell, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage July 23, 1945, in St. Louis to Jerry Nilges, who also preceded her in death. Willene was devoted to her family, to her friends, and most of all to her Lord. She was a source of quiet strength, inspiration, and encouragement to all who were privileged to know her. She will be sadly missed. Survivors include three daughters, Robyn Seat of Tahlequah, Okla., Shirley Wells of Withee, Wis., and Vickie Robertson of Rogersville; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Mitchell of Richmond, Va. and Evan Mitchell of Miami, Okla.; four sisters, Loretta Hankins, Delores Hill, Arvilla Ferrier and Joyce Mitchell, all of Miami, Okla.; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews and a multitude of cherished friends. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Nilges; one son, Garry Nilges; two brothers, Leo and William Mitchell; and one sister, LaVaughn Severs. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. with Duane Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Enloe Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Weber Funeral Home in Russellville.
