Ada Bruton-Bell

Ada Bruton-Bell, age 93, of Buena Park, Calif., passed away Friday, February 25, 2011. Ada was born December 29, 1917, on a small farm in Maries County. She was the third child born to William E. Leffler and Elizabeth (Schoenauer) Leffler. She attended Crossroads, a one room school near Belle. She then attended Belle High School graduating in 1935. Ada worked at Collins Men's Store in Jefferson City for many years. After moving to California, she was employed as an accountant for Joe Lowe Corp. until her retirement. She was married to Lee Bruton and later to Harris Bell, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, William (Bill) Bruton and his wife Genny, three grandchildren - Amy, Colton, and Clint, and five great-grandchildren, all of southern California. Also surviving are three sisters, Geneva Sassmann of Bland, Anita Beck of Freeburg, and Dorothy Bruton of Bellflower, Calif.; and two sisters-in-law, Millie (Archie) Leffler and Nicki (Ted) Leffler. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Judith Lee; her parents; her sister, Beulah; and two brothers, Archie and Ted. A graveside service will be held at a later date for relatives and friends at the Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery.
