Jimmie L. Hutchison

Jimmie L. Hutchison, age 80, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Carmel Hills Healthcare and Rehab in Independence. He was born November 9, 1930, on the family farm in Lupus, the son of Frank and Pearl Cofer Hutchison, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage September 29, 1951, in Arkansas, to Katie Mae Flippin, who preceded him in death on January 2, 2008. Jimmie served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1953. He was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. Jimmie loved spending time with family and friends and will be sadly missed. Survivors include: one daughter in-law, Nancy Hutchison of Independence; one brother, J.D. Hutchison with his wife Norma of Independence; three grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, Jimmie was preceded in death by two sons, Mike and Steve Hutchison; and one sister, Maxine Wolf. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home in California. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Weber Funeral Chapel in California with Rev. Greg Morrow officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held in the California City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 119 Aster Dr., Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17112-2742.
