Donald "Don" G. Hammann, age 60, of Meta, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born May 11, 1950, son of the late Walter and Wilhelmina (Huhman) Hammann. On June 26, 1970, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta, Don was united in marriage to Sharon Libbert, who survives at the home. He was a 1968 graduate of Helias High School. He worked at Von Hoffmann Press, University of Missouri Printing Services in Columbia, and News Tribune of Jefferson City. He owned and operated Picture Frames Plus in Meta. Don was a veteran of the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in October 1974. He enjoyed picture framing, hunting, fishing, and looking for mushrooms. He is also survived by three daughters, Stacey Hees and husband Bryan of Meta, Stephanie Koenigsfeld and husband Dan of Lee's Summit, and Michelle Hammann of the home; two grandchildren, Shelby Hees and Ryan Koenigsfeld; four sisters, Mary Wankum and husband Art of Jefferson City, Pat Rufty and husband Sid of Raytown, Judy Parks and husband Gene of St. Charles, Illinois, and Eileen Volmert and husband Roger of St. Thomas; and three brothers, Jim Hammann of Mexico, John Hammann and wife Bernie of Tuscumbia, Dave Hammann and wife Mary Lou of Meta. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Martha Tarwater. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Sunday, March 13 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
