Layton Edward Keeran Sr., 68, of California, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 23, 1942, in Moniteau County, the son of Pyrell Noel and Lucille (Cofer) Keeran, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on December 31, 1987, in Camdenton, to Sharon Evans, who survives of the home with their beloved dogs Sophie and Tilly. He worked for the Missouri Dept. of Corrections as a Corrections Officer for over 30 years. He enjoyed working on race cars, anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, and being with his family. He served in the United States Army, where he was an Expert Rifleman and ran communications. He is survived by one son, Layton Edward "Eddie" Keeran Jr. and wife Billie Jo of California; daughters, Monica Green and husband Delbert of California, Linda Keeran of Tipton, and Jessica Nichole Myers and family of Camdenton; five brothers, Max Keeran of Centertown, Ronald Keeran of California, Raymond Keeran of Jamestown, James Keeran of California, and Leslie Keeran of Prairie Home; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant brother and two brothers, Robert and Richard Keeran. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial with full military honors will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Officiating will be Wanda Craven, assisted by Rebecca Carroll and Laura Andrews. Memorials are suggested to Disabled American Veterans, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S.
