Carolyn Janice Isaiah, 59, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, in Jefferson City. She was born September 22, 1951, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Robert Prince Hill and Frances Coleman. Carolyn was married to Maurice Anthony Hoskin, who preceded her in death in 2004. Carolyn attended St. Peter's Catholic High School in St. Louis. She was employed as the head cook at Adams Street Place and was also an x-ray technician and a podiatrist assistant. Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, dominos, music, cooking, helping people and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by three daughters: Johonna Hoskin, Tashonda Hoskin and Johnnetta Hoskin; one son: Montez Hoskin; 12 grandchildren: Rhieanna, Tanasia, Lamajah, Shamya, Rickeya, Ahree, Jacolbion, Jercolvin, Jahanna, Montez Jr., Montrese, and Da' Monte; two special cousins: Kim and Vesta; a special friend: Gerald Giplin; and a host of cousins and friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Johnteia Hoskin; one granddaughter: Angel Hoskin; one uncle: Frank Coleman; and one aunt: Mary "Aunt Mamie" Edwards. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Skiles officiating. Interment will be private for the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
