Betty J. Knatcal

Mrs. Betty J. Knatcal, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. Betty was born April 4, 1928, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of William L. and Alpha E. Ousley Holliday. She was married on July 10, 1946, in Pfiefer, Ark., to Johnnie W. Knatcal, who preceded her in death on June 30, 2004. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Betty attended Jefferson City Public Schools. A homemaker, Betty had been employed with the Jefferson City Country Club for 30 years. She was an active volunteer with the Jefferson City Salvation Army and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include: three sons, Jack H. Knatcal and his wife Marsha of Holts Summit, Mo., Jerry L. Knatcal and his wife Gloria of Mankato, Minn., and J. Dean Knatcal of Holts Summit, Mo.; two daughters, Sandra J. Banta and her husband Frankie of Sunshine, La., and Lisa L. Miller and her husband Glenn of Denham Springs, La.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny D. Knatcal. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boone County, Mo. with the Reverend Lewis Curtis officiating. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Calvary Baptist Church.
