Roger Davidson

Roger Wade Davidson, 77, of Hartsburg, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1933, in Boone County, a son of the late Claude E. and Betty J. (Northway) Davidson. He was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson City High School, which was the graduating class that wrote the school alma mater. On November 8, 1953, Roger was united in marriage to Patsy R. Higgins, who survives at their home. Roger started working for Woodman Engineering in 1972, where he held positions as Service Manager, General Manager, and was currently the Vice-President. He retired in 2010 due to his illness. He learned about the heating and cooling business while working along side his father. Roger served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hartsburg, where he had also served as Sunday School Director and Church Treasurer for many years. He loved and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed camping and the Davidson family 4th of July celebration. He loved having all of his family together to share stories and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of his family, which includes his 17 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He dearly loved his church family. Along with his wife Patsy, Roger is also survived by three children: Christy Martin (husband Pat) of Holts Summit, Kevin Davidson (wife Sheila) of Hartsburg, Laura Ruediger (husband Doug) of Jefferson City; six grandchildren: Ryan Martin (wife Erin), Johanna McKim (husband Pat), Amanda Lueckenhoff (husband Adam), Bryant Davidson (wife Danielle), Dylan Ruediger and Kaitlyn Davidson; two great-grandchildren: Kane Lueckenhoff and Emery McKim; three brothers: Gary Davidson, Monte Davidson (wife Sheri), and Warren Davidson (wife Barbara), all of Lake Ozark; and one sister: Joan Hood (husband Bob) of Paola, Kan. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., today, Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hartsburg, with Bro. Dale Larison and Bro. Lyn Heying officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt.
