Linda K. Currier, 59, of Columbia, died peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2011, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Pontiac, Illinois, on November 27, 1951 to Harriet M. Drinan and Arthur G. Rohlfs. Linda earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Missouri. She taught at the Montessori School in Columbia for seven years; started the 9th Street Preschool and was a wonderful parent, homemaker and friend. Linda was a member of the board of the Jefferson City Figure Skating Club. She recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with husband Michael. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Cailin; her son, Alexander; sister, Kathleen A. Wiemken, her husband Norval and children Amanda, Joey, Alyson, and Mary, of Dwight, Illinois; sister, Marcia J. Nicholls and her children Sarah and Sean of Charlotte, N.C. She was preceded in death by her father and by her brother, William G. Rohlfs. A Memorial Service, "A Celebration of the Life of Linda K. Currier" is scheduled for Thursday, June 30, at Calvary Episcopal Church on 123 S. 9th Street beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to the Thompson Foundation of Columbia, Columbia Montessori School, or the Head for A Cure Foundation in Linda's name.
