Mr. Kenneth A. Kerr, age 50 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Russellville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, after an automobile accident. Kenny was born August 31, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., a son of Merle E. and Elsie M. Patterson Kerr. He was married on October 22, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Dorothy B. Rutledge after being lifelong partners for 17 years prior to being married. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Kenny was a 1978 graduate of Russellville High School. He was a journeyman electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 257 for over 20 years. He worked at the University of Missouri as an electrician for the last two years of his career. Kenny was a member of Corticelli Baptist Church in Russellville, Mo. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, and fishing; but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and children. He enjoyed helping his son with the Awanas and Cub Scouts. His kids will always have fond memories of him dancing to their favorite songs and riding bikes on the Katy Trail. Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Kerr; one son, Jimmy Lee Kerr of the home; two daughters, Chrissy Roberson and her husband Jay of Jefferson City, Mo. and Susan Marie Kerr of the home; two sisters, Betty Bond and Shirley Crawford of Alabama; three brothers, Wayne Kerr and his wife Pat of Jefferson City, Mo., Delbert "Bud" Kerr and his wife Rita of Russellville, Mo., and Jerry Kerr and his wife JoAnn of Russellville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Gavin Roberson, James Roberson, Jaylynn Roberson, and Baylee Roberson; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Kerr; and one sister, Brenda Shehorn. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Corticelli Baptist Church, 57731 Hwy. C, Russellville, Mo., with the Reverend Ryan Stiffler officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Kerr Children's Educational Fund.
