Terry Joyce

Terry Joyce, 58, of Weldon Springs, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a three year battle with brain cancer. Terry was born July 18, 1954, in Kirksville, the son of Pete and Eileen Joyce of Edina. Terry graduated from Knox County High School in Edina, where he was a five sport letterman. After high school, he went to Highland Community College in Highland, Kan., where he was a three sport letterman. Terry was named to Highland's Football Hall of Fame. Terry then went on to Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, where he was recognized as an All-American tight end and punter. After graduation, Terry signed as a free agent as punter with the St. Louis Football Cardinals in 1976. Terry also played for the Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49er's. Terry was named General Manager of Major Brands, Inc. where he worked until his early retirement due to declining health. On May 27, 1978, Terry married Linda Fett in Bridgeton, who survives of the home. He is also survived by their daughter, Lindsay Ann Joyce, M.D. of Louisville, Ky. Terry is also survived by three siblings, Tim and his wife Cheri of Warrenton, Ted and his wife Lynn of Warrenton, and Tracey Joyce of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Patrick Joyce on December 28, 2010; his parents; and a brother, Thomas Kerfoot Joyce. Visitation will be held at Baue Funeral Home, in St. Charles from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23. Visitation on Friday will be at St. Cletus Catholic Church in St. Charles, from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service at noon.
