David Lackman Sr. (Veteran)

David E. Lackman Sr., 70, of Westphalia, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Jefferson City. He was born June 8, 1941, in St. Thomas, a son of Steve and Clara Luebbering Lackman, both deceased. On June 6, 1964, David was united in marriage in Taos, to Anna Marie Toebben, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2010. David owned and operated Lackman's Home Appliance Repair from 1978 to 2005. He has also worked for Westphalia Home Center, Graessle Appliance, Capital City Ford, McGraw Edison, Blackwell's Garage and St. Mary's Hospital (St. Louis). David served in the Missouri National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia Knights of Columbus, St. Jude General Assembly and Western Catholic Union. He is survived by four children, Darin (Kate) Lackman of Jefferson City, Becky (Greg) Bowman of Jefferson City, Darla (Kurt) Klebba of Taos, David (Darla) Lackman Jr. of Westphalia; three brothers, Joseph Lackman (Dorothy) of Ohio, Paul Lackman (Lillian) of St. Thomas, Ben Lackman (Elaine) of Centertown; five sisters, Dr. Virginia Billian (Leonard) of Maryland, Sr. Cecilia Lackman SSM of St. Louis, David's twin sister Dorothy Hartung (Charles) of St. Louis, Juliet Rodeman (Ralph) of Columbia, Harriet Lackman of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Shae Lackman, Brad Bowman, Bryan Bowman, Shelby Vessell, Kayla Vessell, Jacob Klebba, Carson Klebba, Megan Lackman, Bradley Lackman; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Lage and Herbert Otto; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Ann Lackman, Norine Lage and Rosemary Otto. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home, Westphalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Mark S. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
