Becky Derendinger, 53, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at her residence after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1958, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Leslie and Shirley (Brainard) Thompson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on June 3, 1978, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Jamestown, to Stephen C. Derendinger, who survives of the home. She was a 1976 graduate of Jefferson City High School, and worked as a Data Entry Operator for the Dept. of Revenue. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, as well as the Jamestown Lions' Club, and a past member of the Jamestown Rec. Association. Becky enjoyed fishing, hunting, slow-pitch softball, watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball, and especially spending time with her grandkids. She is survived by one son, Stephen (Debbie) Derendinger II, and two daughters, Michelle and Christina Derendinger, all of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Cole and Sydney; two brothers, Paul W. (Theresa) Fairchild and Ronnie (Stephanie) Thompson; two sisters, Ronda Holliday and friend Greg Rehagen, and Sharon (Kenneth) Sundermeyer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Fairchild and Michael Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown. Burial will be in St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Bish. Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a scholarship fund for her grandchildren, Cole and Sydney, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
