Sheila Walker, age 80, of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers, Fla. Sheila was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri, on December 24, 1930, to Frank and Frances Young. Sheila went to Jefferson City High School and was an avid "Jay." She moved to Columbia in 1963, and was active in golf, tennis, snow skiing, and bridge. She worked for several years as a legal secretary for the Missouri Attorney General's office in Jefferson City and for Mid-Missouri Legal Services, Corp. in Columbia, which she dearly loved. She married Pinkney C. Walker in 1980, and moved to Ft. Myers several years later. Sheila is survived by her children, Scott and David Moen of Holts Summit, James A. Butcher of Ft. Myers, Julie Burg of Hallsville; her grandchildren, Michelle Teeter, Rebekah Bekius, Kristina Moen, Sarah Moen, Tyler Butcher; two great- grandchildren; two step-daughters, Sheila Butcher, Sandra Kendall; her brother, Robert Young of St. Louis, and her twin sister, Shirley Wright of Kansas City; and many nieces and nephews. Sheila loved her family and was proud of all of them. She was joyful, loving, and caring and will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. After cremation, there will be a memorial service at the Evangelical Free Church of Columbia from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hope Hospice Fort Myers.
