Jack Stuart (Veteran)

Jack D. Stuart, age 74, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. Jack was born March 30, 1937, in Boonville, the son of Jack and Anna (Langkop) Stuart. On September 27, 1959, he married Jane Stock, who survives of the home. Jack was a 1954 graduate of Bunceton High School. He farmed with his father until selling the property and moving to Sedalia in 1969. Jack served 38 years with the Missouri Army National Guard in units at Sedalia, Warrensburg, and Jefferson City retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major (E-9). Most recently, he was employed at Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville as a dealer. Jack was an outdoor enthusiast and a licensed private pilot. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends, attending motorsports events, riding his Harley-Davidson and stirring up laughs whenever he could. Jack was a member of the Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two sons, Dan Stuart and his wife Priscillia of LaGrange, Ky., Dale Stuart of Columbia; and one granddaughter, Amy Stuart also of Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Weisenborn officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Bothwell Foundation for Cancer Center, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
