Robert (Bob) Fletcher, 75, of California, Mo., passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at his residence. He was born on February 17, 1936, in Magnetic Springs, Ohio, the son of William Leroy and Virginia (McAllister) Fletcher, both of whom preceded him in death, as well as his aunt Elizabeth Gibson, who helped raise him. He was married on June 28, 1958 in Springdale, Ark., to Gwen Turbyfill, who survives of the home. He graduated high school in Searcy, Ark.; earned his Bachelorís Degree in Business Administration from Harding University; and earned his Masterís Degree in Education Administration from Southwest Missouri State University. He was a lifelong farmer and cattleman and worked as a teacher, football coach and administrator for several schools, including Belleville, Ohio (1958-1960); California, Mo. (1960-1966); Carthage, Mo. (1967-1973); Republic, Mo. (1973-1975); Sedalia, Mo. (1975-1978); and finished his career as High School Principal at Russellville, Mo. Bob always had the utmost concern for the welfare of his student-athletes both on and off the field. He was a member of the Church of Christ in California, Mo. and the Moniteau County Cattlemenís Association. He is survived by two sons, Kirk (Terri) Fletcher of Fayette, Mo., and Keith (Ann) Fletcher of California, Mo.; five grandchildren, Cole (Heather) Fletcher, Drew, Cody, Callie, and Shane Fletcher; special grandson, Shayne (Shauna) Healea; one great-granddaughter, Addison; three sisters, Phyllis Thornton of Destin, Fla., Nancy Fowler of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., and Mary Ellen Callens of Greenwood, Miss. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Richard; three sisters, Ruth and Esther (twins) and Janice; and one grandson, Josh Fletcher. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial will be in California City Cemetery. Officiating will be Chris Harper. Memorials are suggested to either the Josh Fletcher Memorial Scholarship Fund or the Paragould, Ark. Childrenís Home, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S.
