Lieutenant Colonel Mark A. Randazzo, 48, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was born June 13, 1963, the son of Lorenzo and Joan Yvonne McKinney Randazzo. He was united in Holy Matrimony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg, Missouri to Elizabeth (Lisa) Ann Franklin on September 16, 1989, she survives at the home. Mark attended Our Lady of the Snows Elementary School in Mary's Home, Missouri and Helias High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was a 1986 graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. Mark served in the Missouri Army National Guard for over 31 years, from June 24, 1980 to July 23, 2011. He was an enlisted Soldier for over 10 years and received his commission as a Second Lieutenant on March 18, 1991. Mark held several key positions including Commanding Officer for the 1035th Maintenance Company, and Commanding Officer for the 835th Combat Service Support Battalion. His last assignment was as the Director of Logistics for the Missouri Army National Guard. Mark loved the military, it was his life. He also enjoyed being at the lake, traveling with the Guard and family and working on restoring his CJ5 jeep that he drove in college. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Theta Chi fraternity, American Legion Post 5, Eagles, Monday Night Supper Club and VFW Post 1003. Along with his loving wife Lisa he is survived by two sons: Joseph Brett Randazzo and Michael Grant Randazzo, both of the home; parents, Lorenzo and Joan (McKinney) Randazzo Jr. of Eugene and Laurie; sister, Cynthia Randazzo Didier and husband Rick of Kansas City; brother, Philip Randazzo and wife Tonya of Osage Beach; father and mother-in-law, Jerry Franklin and wife Sharon of Warrensburg; brother-in-law, Jeff Franklin and wife Jenna of Warrensburg; sister-in-law, Michele Whetstone of Blue Springs and eight nieces and nephews: Courtney Didier, Audrey Didier, Tristan Donald, Tatum Donald, Trayton Donald, Talon Randazzo, Tavin Randazzo and Ashley Whetstone. He was also godfather to Thomas Stegemann, Audrey Didier and Talon Randazzo. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lorenzo and Cruicifissa Randazzo and maternal grandparents, Ollie Bea and James McKinney. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 28, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with prayer service to be held at 3:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Msgr. David Cox officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.
