Gary Lee Golson

Gary Lee Golson, 56, of Mansfield, Texas, formerly of Jefferson City, died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Community Hospice of Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 19, 1955, in Moline, Ill., the son of George M. and Doris M. Golson. On December 29, 1999, he married Gabriela Rodriguez, who survives at the home. He attended West Elementary School and was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He graduated in 1977, from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling. He was an MU Tiger fan. Other survivors include two sons, Gabe (age seven) and Gavin (age two) of the home; one sister, Cynthia Carr and her children, Austin Carr of Jefferson City and Sierra Carr of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 16, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, Texas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Woodcrest Chapel, 2201 West Nifong Blvd., Columbia, Mo.
