Lydia Marie Reischauer

Lydia Marie (Albertin) Reischauer, age 81, of Pennsylvania, formerly of California, Mo., died Thursday, November 18, 2010, in Pennsylvania. She was born December 12, 1928, to Lydia and Theodore Albertin and raised in California, Mo. She lived most of her adult life in St. Louis, with her husband Merle and during their church life they attended Concordia Maplewood, Prince of Peace, Christ and St. Paul's (California, Mo.) Lutheran Churches, where Lydia served in many capacities of leadership and spiritual guidance. Lydia will be especially remembered for her sweet spirit, tireless giving to others and her unconditional love for her family and friends. Lydia is survived by her daughter and husband, Pamela and Wolfgang Berten; her son and wife, Timothy and Kelley Reischauer; her sister, Emma Wrenfrow; her grandchildren, Matt Rei-schauer and Megan (Rei-schauer) Turton, Sarah and Leah Berten, Emma and Theo Reischauer; and great-grandson, Ryan Turton; among many other family and friends. Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Merle G. Reischauer Sr.; her son, Merle G. Reischauer Jr.; her brother, Ted Albertin; and her sisters, Anna Cook and Frieda McKee. Lydia's Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1 Selma Ave., Webster Groves, MO 63119. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception immediately following.
