Ralph Edmund Loesch, 85, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at his home. He was born January 29, 1925, in Jefferson City, a son of Herman Emil and Kathrine (Strobel) Loesch. He attended Zion Lutheran School and Zion Public School. On May 27, 1951, Ralph was united in marriage at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek, to Marie Pauline Engelbrecht, who survives at their home. Ralph worked for Tweedie's Shoe Factory from 1943-1955, Jefferson City Public Schools from 1955-1960 and West Gate Lanes from 1960 until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Other survivors include one son, Robert Loesch of Jefferson City; one daughter, Maxine Johnson and husband Gary C. Johnson of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Michael (Mary) Johnson of Jefferson City, and Krystle (Grant) Heuett of Canon City, Colo.; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Clarence Loesch and wife Anna, and Marvin Loesch and wife Carol, both of Jefferson City. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Russ Bowder and Rev. Sam Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 803 Swifts Highway, Jefferson City, MO, 65109; or Calvary Lutheran High School.
