Nelda Hoeft
Nelda K. Hoeft, 70, of California, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at her residence. She was born on November 6, 1940, in Doe Run, Missouri, a daughter of the late Rev. John Wesley and Lola Marie Dunlap Thomas. She was a 1958 graduate of Valley High School in Caledonia, Mo. Nelda worked for Westinghouse from 1972 to 1982, and for Maytag from 1986 until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in California. She is survived by one daughter: Linda Fay Bond of California; one son: Larry Thomas Hoeft and his wife Patty of Holts Summit; two sisters: Hazel Becker and her husband Floyd of Farmington, and Shirley Ott and husband Bill of St. Louis; one brother: Murphy Lee Thomas and his wife Mary of Farmington; two grandchildren: Janel M. Bond and Robert H. Bond; one special friend and caregiver: Melva Lou Peoples and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in California, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Linda Pagel officiating.
