Donnita Edmonds

Donnita F. Holbrook Edmonds, age 62 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. Donnita was born September 9, 1948, in Scotia, California the daughter of Bernard E. and Georgia L. Wilson Holbrook. She was married on August 22, 1969, in California, to Robert "Goat" Edmonds. They were later divorced but stayed lifelong friends. She graduated from Ukiah High School in Ukiah, California. A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1973, Donnita was employed as a medical receptionist with Dr. W. Blake Rogers for over 10 years. She enjoyed photography, being outside, and was an avid reader. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities, especially watching her granddaughter, Amber, ride at the rodeo. Survivors include: five children, Dawn Garrison and her husband Bill of Pittsburgh, Mo., Yvonne Bax and her husband Andrew of St. Elizabeth, Mo., R. Adam Edmonds of Jefferson City, Mo., Dallas R.L. Edmonds of Jefferson City, Mo., and Levi D. Holder of Jefferson City, Mo., three brothers, Bernard Holbrook, Dennis Holbrook, and Everett Holbrook; two sisters, Pat Stewart and Cheryl Workman; and nine grandchildren, Samantha Bunch, W. Cody Allen, Amber Abbett, Ethan Abbett, Noel Edmonds, Natalie Etter, Lily Groose, Ryan Edmonds, Preston Holder. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara Taylor. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the Freeman Chapel with the Pastor Jeremy Hostettler.
