Laura Mae "Mimi" Mueller, 100, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born April 28, 1910, in Mokane, a daughter of John and Martha Alice (Drummond) Zbinden. On September 21, 1930, Laura was united in marriage to Hugo Otto Mueller, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1977. Laura worked for Tweedie Shoe Factory and Warwick Village, and along with her husband, co-owned Eddie's Tavern. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, working in her garden, playing dominoes and solitaire, being around children and spending time with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Doris J. Wachter of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Cynthia D. Stegemann and husband Douglas of St. Martins, R. Max Wachter Jr. and wife Sherry of California, Jim S. Schupp and wife Karen of Corvallis, Oregon, Lisa Schupp and companion Lorrie Pleger of Albany, Oregon; nine great- grandchildren, Scott D. Stegemann and wife Cynthia of Marion, Kasi D. Stegemann, Tony J. Stegemann, Jessi E. Adams, all of Jefferson City, Joseph R. Stegemann and wife Krystal of Millersburg, Ray M. Wachter III, Zackariah Wachter, Rheanna Wachter, all of California, Amanda Schupp of Oregon; 10 great-great- grandchildren, Cody Stegemann, Alexa Stegemann, Jacob Stegemann, Griffen Stegemann, Harrison Stegemann, Cruze Stegemann, Justice Adams, Destiny Adams, Xavior Adams, Kadyn Parker; and three step-great-great- grandchildren, Saxon Scheidegger, Gage Cliburn and Lexi Mitchell. Laura was also preceded in death by one daughter, Aleta M. Schupp; two sons-in-law, Raymond Wachter and Stanley Schupp; five brothers, William Zbinden, Jester Zbinden, Leonard Zbinden, Sam Zbinden, James Zbinden; and six sisters, Nettie Zbinden, Lena Whyte, Irene Nilges, Jeanette Cramer, Rose Mueller and Loretta Gotsch. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Russ Bowder and Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund or SSM Hospice.
