Patrick Hanley Wilson, 79, of Green City, died Monday, January 17, 2011, at his son's home in Lenexa, Kan. He was born March 29, 1931, in rural Sullivan County, near Sorrel, the son of Wayne and Isabela. He was a 1949 graduate of Milan High School. He was united in marriage on May 18, 1952, at Mary Immaculate Parish in Kirksville to the love of his life, Adena Carolyn Page, who survives at their home. After initially attending Truman State University, Pat began working full-time for the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department in Milan. Subsequently, he was transferred to Kirksville, then Moberly, and finally Trenton in 1962. Pat remained with the Highway Department until he retired in 1982 after 26 Î© years of service. Upon retirement, Pat acquired an interest in Automatic Music Company in Trenton and eventually became sole owner, which he ultimately sold in 1993. Shortly after that, Pat and Carolyn moved from Trenton back to Green City, where they remained. Pat enjoyed refereeing football and basketball for over four decades, including high school and college. One of his favorite things to do was to take Carolyn and attend many of the activities of their grandchildren over the years. He was a passionate Notre Dame football fan and attended many games in South Bend with friends and family - GO IRISH!! His love of Notre Dame football was passed on to his three sons and all the grandchildren. He was also a third degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, served for many years on the Trenton Park Board and helped with Boy Scouts. Recently, Pat had been heavily involved with the Northeast Regional Water Commission, serving on the Board. Pat loved to spend time with family and friends and will truly be missed by all. He is also survived by three sons: Mickey and his wife Pam of Jefferson City and their children Jeff, Brad and Katie; Richard and his wife Fiona of Eldridge, Iowa and their five children Kerry Gooch and her husband Dan and great- grandchild Addison, Caitlin, Kinsey, Collin and Chase; and Tim and his wife Michelle of Lenexa, Kan. and their two children, Matthew and Brett; two brothers: Mike and his wife Beverly of Sequim, Wash. and Chris and his wife Judy of Kirksville. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Isabela Wilson; four brothers, Charles, Paul, Buddy and Robert; and one sister, Jeanne. Friends will be received from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, at the Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22 at St. Mary's Parish in Milan with Father Brendan Griffey officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Mary's Parish Cemetery Fund, in care of St. Mary's Parish.
