Richard W. Kliethermes, 68, of Loose Creek, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, in Jefferson City. He was born May 11, 1942, in Loose Creek, a son of August and Johanna Luebbert Kliethermes. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School. On May 5, 1973, Richard was united in marriage in Loose Creek, to Georgene Voss, who survives at their home. Richard served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, stationed in Germany. He worked for Lock Mill, ABB for over 20 years, and then for Quaker Windows until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. He enjoyed gardening, working on his lawn, reading, watching football and baseball, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Other survivors include one son, George Kliethermes and his wife Tricia of Osage Bend; four grandchildren, Matthew, Tara, Makenna, and Ellie Kliethermes; and one sister, Helen Kempker of Loose Creek. Richard was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Kliethermes, on November 23, 1999; two brothers, August Kliethermes Jr. and Ralph Kliethermes; one sister, Mary Louise Bock; one brother-in-law, Herbert Kempker; and one nephew, Roger Bock. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the Hilke-Millard Funeral Home in Westphalia, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, with Fr. Donald J. Antweiler officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
