Irl Edwards

Irl Richard Edwards, 88, formerly of Collinsville, Ill., died Monday, December 27, 2010, at Moniteau Care Center, California, Mo. Irl was the former Assistant Post Master of the Collinsville Post Office. He was a member of the Collinsville Sunrise Kiwanis, St. John's Church of Christ in Collinsville, and was active with the Collinsville area Boy Scouts. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include: two daughters, Beth (Ron Stocksick) Varner of Centertown, Mo., and Kathy (Carl) Pagles of Maryville, Tenn.; one step-son, Don (Cindy) Ward of Collinsville, Ill.; his sister, Virginia Edwards of California, Mo.; three grandchildren, Heather (Holly Sebesta) Pagles of Maryville, Tenn., Wesley Pagles of Louisville, Ky., and Sarah (Daniel) Crocker of Russellville, Mo.; and two step-grandchildren, Todd Ward and Kelly Ward Rogers, both of Collinsville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (nee Robson) Edwards; second wife, Evelyn (nee Chiste) Edwards; parents, Robert and Ruby (nee Gillespie) Edwards; a brother, Vernon; and two sisters, Roberta Gass and Georgia Edwards. Funeral services were held Friday, December 31, 2010, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. Burial was at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
