Douglas Alan Borgmeyer, 48, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born November 30, 1962, in Jefferson City, the son of Vincent and Elora "Sissy" LePage Borgmeyer. He was a 1981 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He was united in marriage on February 5, 1993, in Jefferson City to his best friend and true love of his life, Kathy Yanskey, who survives at the home. At a young age, Doug helped deliver milk and then began helping his uncle, Paul LePage farm. He worked for Don Schnieders Excavating for over 25 years, where he was a superintendent. He supervised jobs throughout the state of Missouri, but was especially proud of his work at Whiteman Air Force Base. He most recently worked for Jeff Schnieders Construction. He enjoyed pheasant hunting in South Dakota and collecting John Deere toy tractors, but his true love was working on his farm in Cole Junction. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union 513 and a board member of the Cole Junction Levee District. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and will be truly missed by all. He is also survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Borgmeyer of the home; his paternal grandmother, Alma Borgmeyer of Taos; his two sisters: Pam Wilson and her husband Mick and their children Jeff, Brad, and Katie, and Terri Brune and her husband Travis and their children Lauren and Jacob; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony "Junior" and Lorraine Yanskey; his in-laws: Don Yanskey and his wife Betty and their son Brandon, Marilyn Lehman and her husband Ron and their daughters Emily and Julia, and Kevin Yanskey and his wife Christy and their daughters Kayla, Morgan and Brooke; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandfather: John Borgmeyer and his maternal grandparents: Henry and Elora LePage. Friends will be received from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with Father Benjamin Nwosu officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mackenzie Borgmeyer Educational Fund, in care of Jefferson Bank.
