Paul Francis Stockman Sr., 76, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born on November 6, 1934, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Elmer Matthew and Rose B. Mertens Stockman. Paul was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage on December 3, 1957, in Ft. Carson, Colo., to Betty Jane Carneal who resides at the home. Paul was the owner and operator of Paul Stockman Cabinet Shop for over 50 years where he worked side-by-side with his sons. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, VFW, and Eagles. Paul enjoyed restoring old cars, fishing, and gardening. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Other survivors include: seven children, Tim Stockman (Donna Foster), Jefferson City; Lisa (Jim) Lage, Mary's Home; Nora Welschmeyer, Jefferson City; Earl Stockman, Taos; Brenda (Kevin) Bullock, Vienna; Greg Stockman, Jefferson City; Paul "Tate" (Lisa) Stockman Jr., Jefferson City; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Rosemary Long, Jefferson City; Donna (Fred) Straub, Jefferson City; Ann (Ron) Schenk, Arizona; Carol (Dennis) Jacknewitz, Illinois. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lydia Cremer; and four brothers, Harold, Elmer, Earl, and Leonard Stockman. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alex Ekka officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
