Loyola Pauline "Lola" Deuser, 94, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Golden Living Center. She was born on January 5, 1917, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Louis Bernard and Agnes Frances Clark DeWesplore. She was married in 1939 in Jefferson City to Jerome Jack Balkenbusch, who preceded her in death in 1977. She was married to Al Deuser on August 7, 1982, in Jefferson City. He died in December 1994. A graduate of St. Peters High School and a homemaker, Mrs. Deuser was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She did quilting for Capital Region Medical Center and volunteering at the Samaritan Center. She also enjoyed fishing and traveling. Survivors include one son, Mark Balkenbusch, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; one sister, Lois Luetkemeyer, St. Martins; and one brother, James B. (Alice) DeWesplore, Wardsville. She was preceded in death by one brother, John DeWesplore; and one sister, Beatrice Coffey. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2011, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Vogelweid Learning Center, 314 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
