Dorothy F. Brenneke, 78, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri. She was born August 28, 1932, in St. Elizabeth, Missouri, a daughter of William and Mary (Lueckenhoff) Massman. On November 29, 1952, Dorothy was united in marriage in St. Elizabeth, Missouri, to Herman Joseph Brenneke, who survives at their home. Dorothy was a homemaker and mom. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, and was also a member of the church quilting circle. Dorothy was a wonderful cook and loved to bake cookies. She also enjoyed playing cards, sewing, reading books and traveling. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her husband Herman, Dorothy is also survived by seven children: Joe Brenneke (wife Diann) of Henley; Ken Brenneke (wife Agnes) of Wentzville; Carol Frank (husband Bob) of Wardsville; Mary Kroll (husband Bob) of Broken Arrow, Okla.; Jeff Brenneke (wife Brenda) of Taos; Glenn Brenneke (wife Kimberly) of Lee's Summit; Rachel Farr (husband Bill) of Jefferson City; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; and one brother: Joe Massman (wife Dora) of Westphalia. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Mary Massman; two brothers: John Massman and Norbert Massman; and two sisters: Theresa Brasier and Rosie Massman. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Taos Knights of Columbus in Taos, where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos, with Fr. J. David Maher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
