Calvin C. Sieg, 84, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011, in Temple, Texas. He was born to the late Leo Stanford and Sadie Victoria Sallin Sieg of Linn, on February 7, 1926. He was retired from the United States Army with 26 years of service in World War II, Korea and in Vietnam. SFC Sieg has received many awards and ribbons during the 26 years. They include: Brown Star, Good Conduct Metal W-6 Award, World War II Victory Metal, European Theatre Operations Ribbon W-2 Battle Stars, United Nations Ribbon, Korean Presidential Citation, Korean Campaign Ribbon W-4 Battle Stars, American Unit Presidential Citation, and American Defense Ribbon, just to mention a few. He was a member of the Shriners Lodge. He is survived by three sons, Ralph C. Sieg of Glen Rose, Texas, Steven Sieg of Glen Rose, Texas, and David K. Sieg of Garland, Texas; one daughter, Diana M. Sieg of Mansfield, Texas; one brother, Lincoln A. Sieg of Linn; one sister, Bernadine M. Boss of Jefferson City; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Sue Sieg; one daughter, Astrid Schroeter in 2008; three brothers, Chester, Russell, and Stanley Sieg; and four sisters, Viola Mantle, Delcie Butler, Nellie Jobe, and Norene Hager. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Texas. Interment is scheduled for 10:45 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
