Albert "Brownie" Leo Linhardt, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born October 26, 1926, in Centertown, Mo., a son of the late William Joseph and Margaret (Schubert) Linhardt. He attended Cole County Schools. Brownie served in the United States Navy in World War II from 1944 through 1946, and obtained the rank of Seaman Second Class. He spent many years as a farmer and real estate developer. Brownie was a life member of the 32nd degree of Scottish Rite of Mason's in Columbia, life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2693 in Jefferson City, Russellville Lodge #90 A.F. & A.M. and the California Lodge #183, life member of the Moolah Temple of Shriners of St. Louis, life member of the American Legion Post 5, and the Disabled American Veterans. May Brownie rest in peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior. He is survived by his long time lady friend: Debra Stenzinger of the home; one sister: Dorothy Goller of Jefferson City; one step-daughter: Kathleen Green of Centertown; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Ola DePorter and Laura Hilbun; and his wife: Marguerite Linhardt. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where Masonic Services will be held at 3:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Capital West Christian Church, with Rev. Ken Harland officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
