Regine Paulsell

Regine Clare Luecke Paulsell, 93, of Excelsior Springs, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center. Regine was born June 18, 1917, in Westphalia, Missouri, the daughter of William Frank Luecke and Johanna Wilde Luecke. She worked as an X-ray technician and nurse in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, where she met her husband James Paulsell. They were married at St. Peter's Cathedral in Jefferson City, Missouri on November 23, 1938. They relocated to Kansas City in 1943, and settled in the Gladstone area in 1945. Jim and Jean were founding members of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in the Northland. She was very active in Camp Fire and Boy Scouting activities through the Church when her children were young. Jim and Jean celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary shortly before his death in 1998. Regine is survived by her brother: Henry Luecke and wife Doris of Jefferson City, Missouri; her five children: David Paulsell and wife Betty of Kansas City, Missouri; Karen Paulsell of Oakland, California; Donna Mason and husband Harold of Liberty, Missouri; Shari Paulsell of Lake Lotawana, Missouri and James Paulsell and wife Carla of Omaha, Arkansas. She also has four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be in Resurrection North Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. mcgilleyantiochchapel.com
