Marjorie Maxine (Anderson) Zumalt, 87, of Hartsburg, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born September 22, 1924, in Centertown, Missouri, a daughter of the late John E. and Grace Mae (Bolin) Anderson. On June 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Eugene Reed Zumalt and together, they celebrated 50 years of marriage, sharing a journey of hard work, enduring love and countless blessings. Margie worked at Tweedie Shoes in her younger years and retired in 1985 from 3M in Columbia, Missouri. She shared herself with her community and was a tireless volunteer with the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital Poppy Program; the American Legion Auxiliary - Unit 424, Hartsburg, Mo.; Eight and Forty; and The Friendship Club of Hartsburg. She enjoyed Wednesday afternoon card parties at the American Legion and fellowship with her friends. For someone who never drove a car, she was difficult to catch at home, but such was her passion for life and her joy in being with and giving to others. Her faith journey included Hartsburg Baptist Church and Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. As an avid writer, her personal ministry was expressed through hundreds of cards and letters sent each year to those in need of comfort, prayer and healing. Never was a birthday or anniversary missed. She was extremely proud of her family and loved deeply her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margie is survived by two children: Janice Zumalt Anderson of California, Missouri, and Linda Brune (husband Robert) of Murphy, Texas; six grandchildren: Biff Barner (wife Carole), Shane Albarra'n (husband Augustin' ), Stephanie Perry (husband Keith), LeeAnn Brune (husband Benny), James Brune (wife Melanie) and Fred Brune; 11 great-grandchildren: Kristen, Brian, Erin, Madelynn, Morgan, Mayela, Kayla, Fiama, Addision, Ameca, Solis; and one brother: Ed Anderson (wife Bonnie) of California, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters: Mary Lou Maness and Ruth Murray; brothers: Hugh, Lee and Leon Anderson. Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Interment followed at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
