James Case Sr. (Veteran)

James David Case Sr., 89, of Jackson, died Monday, December 26, 2011, in South East Hospital of Cape Girardeau. He was born July 20, 1922, near Beulah, a son of Squire S. Case and Mattie Cynthia (For) Case. He was joined in marriages to the late Granville W. (Carter) Case and the late Mary Lou (William) Case. Mr. Case enjoyed playing Bluegrass music with his Gibson mandolin. He was also an accomplished wood carver. Mr. Case served with the 5th Army, 91st Division during World War II. He saw combat in Italy as a sergeant and machine gun leader. Survivors include his wife, Loudean (Abernathy) Jones Case of the home; four sons, James David Case Jr. of Homewood Ill., Gary Richard (Mary) Case of Jefferson City, Larry Dean (Janet) Case of Jefferson City and James Timothy (Sherrie) Case of Elliston, Va. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the disabled veterans. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Rambo Church, Beulah, Mo. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Ozark Memorial Gardens, Rolla, Mo. Arrangements are under direction of McComb Funeral Home, Cape Girardeau, Mo. (573-243-1888)
