Dexter James Kline, 29, Overland Park, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Born March 27, 1982, in Iowa City, Iowa, he moved with his family to Overland Park at the age of 5. Dexter graduated from Blue Valley North High School in 2000 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Actuarial Science from Washburn University, Topeka, Kan., in 2005. Dexter was employed by the State Department of Insurance in Topeka, Kan., until he moved to Dallas to work for Transamerica Life. He recently returned to Overland Park to work for Design Evolution Group (DEG). Dexter was a loving and beloved son, brother, great-grandson, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He loved learning math and science and was proud to accumulate knowledge. He was passionate about computer and video game programming and playing video games with his brothers and friends. He loved Star Wars, enjoyed tinkering with electronics, relaxing with his family, and joking around with his friends. He will be missed by his pet cats Zero and Szechuan. Dexter 's loss is mourned by his survivors: mother, Dora K. Skelton; father, James M. Kline; step-father, Brad Skelton; step-mother, Kim Kline; grandparents, Andrew and Shirley Diaz; grandparents, Lloyd and Jewel Kline; step-grandparents, Bill and Iris Skelton; step-grandmother, Pattie Suthoff; younger brother, Dimitri; step-brothers, Chris, David, Brandon and Casey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his step-grandfather, Don Suthoff. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 24, 2011, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., also in the chapel.
