Neva Beever

Neva June Beever, 68, of Mexico, Mo., passed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, in Rolla, Mo., surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Neva was a hairdresser for over 30 years. She owned and operated Design Lines Hairstyling Salon in Mexico. Over the years Neva touched many lives. She was kind, loving, wise, understanding and very selfless. She was creative and constantly growing and learning new things. She was fun-loving, always up for a new adventure. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and the Look Good, Feel Better program. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all her friends. Neva is survived by her four children: Kim Marshall (Gary) in Jefferson City, Mo.; Kam Mills (David) Rolla, Mo.; Kris Arthur-Petersons (Arvids) Jefferson City, Mo. and Kirk Minor (Heather) Mexico, Mo. She has four grandchildren, Gatlin Marshall, Nicholas Mills, Benjamin Mills, Aivars Petersons and seven bonus grandchildren, Kimberly Marshall, Melanie Marshall, Kiara Petersons, Raela Petersons, John Mays, Jacob Mays and Hannah Mays and two bonus great-grandchildren, Gabriel Carbonell and Sofia Carbonell. Neva will live on in each of us. Neva was preceded in death by her mother, Beaulah F. Fleming and by her husband, Bill Beever. Neva donated her body to science, at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Mo., in the hopes that others might benefit and learn from her. In accordance with Neva's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012, (her birthday) at the Steinman Banquet Hall, Hwy. 15 in Mexico, Mo. from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Family, friends and former clients are all invited to share stories, memories, food and drink with us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia Mo., Hospice Compassus of Jefferson City, or Phelps County Hospice, Rolla Mo.
