Mr. Lloyd L. Grice, age 85 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the Jefferson City Manor Care Center. Lloyd was born May 20, 1926, in Brookfield, Mo., the son of Charles L. and Oneta Harmon Grice. He was married on September 29, 1952, in Jefferson City, Mo., to Arden May Abington. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Lloyd was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson City High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper during World War II. Lloyd was the owner of United Distributors since 1952. He was a member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; the B.P.O. of Elks; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors: his wife of 59 years, Arden Grice; two daughters, Kimberly Lloyd Vogel and her husband Carl and Kris Arden Simms and her husband Ian of Jefferson City, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Jacob Lloyd Vogel of Jefferson City, Mo., Kristen Rose Vogel of Chicago, Ill., and Erica Arden Overfelt of Jefferson City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family service was conducted with entombment in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery.
