Dolores Henderson

Mrs. Dolores E. Henderson 79, of Hartsburg, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 26, 1932, in Jefferson City, a daughter of the late Clifford H. and Flora V. (Michael) Mueller. On November 11, 1960, she was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Gary D. Henderson, who survives at their home. Dolores attended Trinity Lutheran School from grades first through eighth, and graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1950. She was employed by Montgomery Wards, Missouri State Association of Licensed Practical Nurses for 10 years and the Missouri Department of Education for 18 years. Dolores retired on January 30, 1994. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, a choir member; she belonged to Circle 5, Ladies Aide and was a leader in Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Trinity Alumni Association. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and friends, making baby quilts, jean quilts, purses and tote bags. Along with her husband, she is also survived by two daughters: Janet Sue McCubbin (husband William Phillip) of Holts Summit and Wanda Kay Allen (husband Lonnie Rae) of Hartsburg; four grandsons: Terry James McCubbin, Cody Rae Allen, William Cole McCubbin and Logan Phillip McCubbin; one great-granddaughter: Lillian Elizabeth McCubbin; one brother: Robert Henry Mueller (wife Carol) of Gravois Mills; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Shirley Elvira Mueller Schmutzler; and a brother-in- law: Adolph Schmutzler. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Sam Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer Association, Hospice Care, or Trinity Lutheran Building Fund.
