Benjamin ìBenjieî Scott Jr., 61, of Henley, Mo., passed away Monday, December 5, 2011, at St. Maryís Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo. On May 24, 1950, he was born in Tuscumbia, Mo., to Benjamin Scott Sr. and Clara Ellen (Farris) Scott. He was a member of the Spring Garden Baptist Church. He was employed in the nuclear industry for over 25 years. He graduated from Cole County R-5 School in 1968. Benjie attended various universities, receiving notable degrees. He loved spending time with his family. Survivors include: mother, Clara Scott Jenkins of Olean, Mo.; sisters, Carolyn (Scott) Bunger of Jefferson City, Mo., Nancy Bond (David) of Eugene, Mo.; brothers, Gary Scott (Judy) of the state of California, Jimmie Lee Scott of the state of California, Patrick Scott (Judy) of Jefferson City, Mo., Andy Scott of Millersburg, Mo., John Scott (Tammy) of Olean, Mo.; sister-in-law, Tina Scott of Holts Summit, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, ìJimmieî Jenkins; one brother, David Scott; and one nephew, David Scott II. Visitation will be held today, Saturday, December 10, 2011, from 12:30ñ2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo., with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Ken Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Spring Garden Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Eldon VFW Post #2442. Memorials are suggested to the Spring Garden Baptist Church.
