Edith Stella Hammann, 92, of Lohman, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born April 9, 1919, in Jefferson City, a daughter of John Edwin and Anna (Mueller) Loesch. On September 14, 1940, Edith was united in marriage to Albert W. Hammann, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1959, in a farm tractor accident. Edith was a lifelong farmer. She loved her John Deere tractor, gardening, flowers (especially roses), playing cards, going to church picnics and auctions, spending time with her family and playing with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Alberta Zumwalt and husband Gary of Lohman; one grandson, Travis Zumwalt and wife Kathy of Lohman; one brother, Daniel Loesch of Lohman; two great-grandsons, Derek and Brandon; a brother-in-law, Clarence Hammann of Jefferson City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her special friend, Earl Blochberger; one brother, Norman Loesch; two sisters, Nora Linsenbardt and Alice Stubinger; and two nephews, Marvin and Don Linsenbardt. Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
