Alfred Savage Jr.

Mr. Alfred Savage Jr., age 72, of Natchitoches, La., passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at his home in the Oak Grove Community. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Sharon Savage of Natchitoches, La.; his sons, Alfred Savage III and wife Darlene of Jefferson City, Michael Savage of Tallulah, La., Stephen Bennett and wife Lou Lou of Natchitoches, La., and Wesley Savage of Natchitoches, La.; his sisters, Marion King of Delhi, La., Gloria Mayeux of Tallulah, La., Thelma Welch of Tallulah, La., and Patsy Pierce of Tallulah, La.; his brother, David Savage of Natchitoches, La.; seven grandchildren; friend, Dickie Simms; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Savage Sr. and Sinah Beatrice Tarver Savage. Funeral Services for Alfred Savage Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, August 26, 2011, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches. La., with the Reverend John Foster serving as celebrant. A committal service will follow the funeral service in the Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Alfred Savage III, Stephen Bennett, David Savage, Robert Bennett, Blake Bennett, Brett Bennett, Alfred Cole Savage and Tom King.
