Bernice Seifert

Bernice A. Seifert, 94, of Hermann, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann. Mrs. Seifert was born in Hope, on April 11, 1917, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Christina (Moeller) Krueger. She was the widow of George H. Seifert. They were married July 19, 1941. He preceded her in death. Bernice was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, where she was a member of the Womens Fellowship and the St. James Quilters. She was a homemaker but also had a few part time jobs throughout her life. She is survived by her children: daughter, Sandra Walter and husband Marvin of Morrison, daughter, Judith Hemeyer of Jefferson City, daughter, Sharon Chruma and husband John of Defiance, son, Russell Seifert and wife Marilyn of Hermann, daughter, Bernice Woodward and husband Gary of Jefferson City, daughter, Brenda Bax and husband Fred of Jefferson City, son, George Seifert Jr. and wife Pat of Hartsburg, and son, Jerry Seifert and wife Shelly of Morrison; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law, Glen Hemeyer. Visitation will be held Friday from 9-11:30 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Morrison, where funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Barbara Zastrow officiating. Burial will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Morrison. Memorials may be given to St. James United Church of Christ or Good Hope Cemetery, c/o Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
