Pauline Garvin

Pauline Arvilla (Taylor) Garvin, 84, of Zapata, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011, at Soldiers Lake, Mich. Pauline was born on March 8, 1927, to William S. and Lorene G. (Kirgen) Taylor. She grew up and graduated from high school in Springfield, Mo. She spent her adult life in Jefferson City, Mo., where she worked for the Jefferson City Street Department, Sterling Excavation and Construction and The Jewel Shop. She was a co-owner of Disposal-All Service and involved in the community through various organizations. She retired and moved to Zapata, Texas. Pauline enjoyed her family, traveling, crafts, nature and her hand work, which we loved receiving and will always treasure. She will be remembered dearly and will be missed by family and friends. Pauline is survived by Fredrick C. Nyman, her companion for many years; one son, Stephen A. Lantis and wife Jan of Chesterfield, Va.; daughters, Pamela Buford of Jefferson City, Mo. and Patricia A. and husband William Gay of Gardner, Kan.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, along with many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Robert Lantis and Clyde Garvin. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences can be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com
