Mrs. Josephine L. Boltz, age 89 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, August 12, 2011, at the Oak Tree Villa Nursing Center. She was born August 24, 1921, in St. Elizabeth, Mo., the daughter of Thomas J. and Gertrude Wilbers Warden. She was married to Leslie Valentine who preceded her in death. On May 12, 1947, in Olathe, Kansas, she married Roy M. Boltz who preceded her in death on December 9, 1985. A life long resident of the Central Missouri area, Josephine was a 1939 graduate of the Columbia School of Beauty. She was a beauty operator with several beauty shops for several years. She was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Revenue for over 20 years as an Assistant Section Clerk and later as Assistant Supervisor of Audit and Edit Section until ill health forced her retirement in October 1, 1976. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5 and a member of the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003. Josephine enjoyed crappie and trout fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks with her son. Survivors include: one son, Roy M. Boltz Jr. of Jefferson City, Mo. and one daughter, JoAnn Valentine Duenkel of Jefferson City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, Roman Warden and Frank Warden, and three sisters, Reginia Berhorst, Eleanor Lueckenhoff Horning, and Rose Twehous. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011. Private graveside services and entombment will be conducted at the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
