Delbert Reeves Boucher Jr.

Delbert Reeves Boucher Jr., 81, of Westphalia, departed this life Saturday, August 6, 2011, in the Westphalia Hills, Westphalia. He was born on January 23, 1930, at Kansas City, a son of Delbert Reeves and Gertrude E. (Mann) Boucher. Mr. Boucher was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from June 22, 1947, until February 12, 1949, after which he joined the United States Air Force and honorably served his country until October 29, 1954. During his working life, Mr. Boucher had worked as a typewriter repairman; in maintenance at Able Body Corporation, Joplin, until June 7, 1991; and after moving to Vienna, he was employed at Vienna Oak Estates as groundskeeper and maintenance man, as long as his health permitted. Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Boucher include: one sister, Ellenor F. Gargotta, Houston, Texas; three nephews, Anthony Padula, John Padula and Michael Padula; three nieces, Teresa Gargotta-Smith, Annette Padula-Nehez and Marguerite Padula-Edwards; many great-nephews and great-nieces; friends, Enid Serviss, Adam Kraemer and wife, Melissa; Kelsey Kraemer; Adam Kraemer Jr.; Rebbeccah Thomas and Levi Thomas, all of Vienna; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Boucher was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Nancy Padula on September 24, 2009; and two nephews, Vincent Thomas Gargotta and Daniel Charles Gargotta. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Boucher at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2011, in the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Msgr. Marion J. Makarewicz, officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Vienna under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2011, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
