Martha Louise Pistel Loesch, age 89, of Lohman, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born June 20, 1922, in Lohman, a daughter of the late Christian and Anna Fischer Pistel. She was baptized July 9, 1922, and confirmed April 5, 1936, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. Martha was united in marriage to Daniel Loesch on May 9, 1946, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman. Daniel survives at their home. She was a homemaker, busy working in the garden, tending her flower beds and raising her four children. She was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and enjoyed many days of quilting with her friends. In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is survived by four children, Ron (Shirley) Loesch of Mexico, Geraldine (Terry) Surface, Jim (Cynthia) Loesch and Marlene (Earl) Carlson, all of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Christy (Kevin) Yanskey, David (Stephanie) Loesch, Tim (Debbie) Surface, Rachel (Matt) Pritchard and Bryan (Jessica) Anderson; 13 great- grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marinda Pistel and Edith Hammann, both of Lohman; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Martha was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Walter Pistel; one sister, Olinda Plochberger; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman with Pastor Edward Merckel officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville.
