Rose Mary Hake, age 82, of Meta, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011, at Oak Tree Villa in Jefferson City. She was born in Osage County on May 17, 1929, daughter of the late Leo and Adelaide (Eichholz) Scheppers. On May 9, 1964, in Tuscumbia, Rose Mary married Edward George Hake, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2002. She worked at Unilever for many years until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed quilting for the church and the Civic League. Rose Mary was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. She is survived by one brother, Joe Scheppers and wife Dolores of Folk; two sisters, Dorothy Helmig of Linn and Evelyn Cooley and husband Terry of Folk; one goddaughter, Rosemary Risse and husband Charlie of New Haven; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Scheppers; and one sister, Alice Cooley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, August 9, at the church. A second visitation prior to Mass will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, also at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
