Theodore Joseph Radmacher Jr.

Theodore Joseph Radmacher Jr., 80, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his home. He was born September 4, 1930, in Meta, the son of Theodore L. and Margaret (Singer) Radmacher. He was a 1948 graduate of Meta High School. Theodore served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Korea for two and Scott Air Force Base for two years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued his military service in the Missouri National Guard, totaling over 19 years of service to his country. While stationed at Scott A.F.B., Theodore met the love of his life, Josephine Ann Uhler, who was also serving in the Air Force there. On April 16, 1955, they were united in marriage in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2009. Theodore was a purchasing agent for Great Central Lumber for 17 years, and ended his career after several years with Scruggs Lumber. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; American Legion Post 5 and the 40/8 Club; the Brazito/Honey Creek Lions Club; and the 6150th Tactical Control Squadron (Mosquito). He is survived by one son, Carl M. Radmacher and wife Teresa of Van Buren, Arkansas, and one sister, Mary Lou Gordon of Jefferson City. Friends will be received from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Basil Eruo officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the V.F.W.
